Humble Bundle are offering up to 9 PC racing games for $14 USD apparently for a good cause

https://www.humblebundle.com/games/just-drive?hmb_source=humble_home&hmb_medium=product_tile&hmb_campaign=mosaic_section_2_layout_index_1_layout_type_threes_tile_index_2_c_justdrive_bundle

Games are:

WRC 7, MXGP, MotoGP15, Road Redemption, Project Cars (+limited edition car pack), Dirt 4, Nascar Heat 4, Project Cars 2 (+ Japanese cars pack) and As etto Corsa (+ dream packs 1-3)

I currently have no racing games (unless you count Mario Kart wii) certainly nothing PC based though I’d really love a racing sim setup and it seems like we’re all going to be grounded for a while.

So questions:

1. Are any of these games any good? I haven’t been into them since the early 2ks, fucked if I know anything about these although I recognize some titles.

2. Could I even run them? I have a very mid spec couple of years old Lenovo laptop/tablet that sure as hell isn’t a gaming rig. That said these all look like old ass games (hence the markdowns) so might be ok.

Regardless, that’s not a lot of money for a bunch of stuff so why the hell not right?

There are some seriously good Sims in that bundle in the form of assesto Corsa and the projects’ car, but they take some computing horsepower to run. I’m not sure how/if they run on something without a mid-range or better descrete gpu. Being well on the sim side of things versus more arcade games, they may not be as casually enjoyable, especially without a wheel and pedals.

.... Spends $20 on games because it’s a good deal then spends $700 on a PC and wheel setup!

This is what we come to Oppo for. You could put together a lower end gaming rig for that budget that would play this bundle well, especially since there are all now older titles .

Yes, that’s a good slate of games. I would pick it up in a heartbeat if I didn’t already own most of them. But definitely check the minimum and recommended specs for them and compare with your current computer.

Also, I would invest in at least a controller to play on if you don’t want to splurge on a wheel/pedal setup. I can’t imagine those games would be a lot of fun with just a keyboard.

Great minds eh? (Also probably geographic and demographic targeted FB ads)

That's only like $12 for that

It’s a good deal. As to whether you can run them, there should be system requirements listed. If you can’t find them on Humble, you can definitely find them over at S team . Should be easy enough to check if they’ll run. Some of them aren’t that old though, Project CARS 2 and DiRT 4 are both 2017 titles (which I guess is getting to be a while ago, but isn’t ancient)

And of course worst case you are out like $13.

Note that when you buy them, you can choose the percentages that go to the developers, the charity, and H umble (GameStop owns them these days IIRC ). So if it makes you feel better to just send all the cash to charity, you can do that.
